ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
To be eligible to apply for the Alamo Federal Credit
Union (AFCU) Scholarship, you must meet all of the
following criteria.
- Applicant must personally have an AFCU account.
- Applicant must be a graduating high school
senior at the time of application submission.
- Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
- Applicant must be able to provide written
acceptance to an accredited University or College,
or a copy of an application to an accredited
University or College, if not yet accepted.
- Applicant must submit all required attachments
with your completed application form.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Applicants will be selected based on all of the
following:
- Scholastic achievement (e.g. AP/Honors classes,
grade point average, SAT or ACT scores)
- Character and leadership (e.g. extra curricular
involvement, honors, awards, achievements, personal
references)
- Essay responses (communication skills, personal
insight)
REQUIRED ATTACHMENTS:
Please include all of the following with your completed
application form. Any application forms that are
submitted without these required attachments will be
ineligible.
- Copy of high school transcript with GPA,
Honors/AP classes, class rank and SAT or ACT scores
noted
- Two letters of recommendation. One letter
must be from a teacher or administrator
and one must be from a personal reference.
Please be certain that each letter has the
reference’s name, address and phone number.
References should also include how long they have
known the applicant and in what context.
